Still Stuck? Here’s How to Finally Decide & Move Forward

Last week, we explored the hidden costs of indecision—the way it drains energy, erodes confidence and keeps us from making real progress.

You can read the newsletter here.

Now that you’ve started noticing where you might be stuck in half-decisions, it’s time to actually commit and follow through.

Here’s how to move from sort-of deciding to actually committing.

How to Decide and Fully Commit

Deciding isn’t just a thought—it’s an action. If you want to truly commit to your decisions, here’s a simple way to do it:

1. Declare It Clearly

A real decision is clear and specific. Instead of saying, “I think I’ll start taking my coaching business more seriously,” say, “I’m going to sign three new clients in the next 60 days.”

Instead of saying, “I want to get in shape,” say, “I’m committing to working out three times a week for the next month.”

Clarity helps remove hesitation.

2. Take Immediate Inspired Action

The quickest way to solidify a decision is to take action right now. Not later, not tomorrow—now. Even a small step counts.

  • If you’ve decided to start running, put your shoes by the door or schedule your first run today.

  • If you’ve decided to switch careers, update your resume or reach out to someone in your desired field.

  • If you’ve decided to stop overcommitting, say no to something that doesn’t align with your priorities.

3. Burn the Backup Plan

If you leave the door open for an easy way out, you’ll take it when things get uncomfortable. Instead, ask yourself:
What would I do differently if I trusted that this was going to work?

That’s the mindset shift that separates people who get results from people who stay stuck.

4. Don’t Re-Decide Every Day

Once you’ve committed, stop revisiting the decision. Instead of asking, “Should I really do this?” shift to, “How can I follow through on what I already decided?”

This small shift reduces doubt and helps you stay in motion.

Final Thoughts: Decide, Then Trust Yourself

Decisions don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. The real power comes from commitment—trusting yourself enough to follow through without constantly looking back.

So, what’s one decision you’ve been revisiting that you’re ready to finally commit to? Name it. Declare it. And take the first step right now.
